Google Continues to Provide Up to Date Model with Flash 2.0 for Developer Community Enhancing Already Popular Google Flash 1.5
Google released its most powerful and efficient work agentic era Generative AI Model Gemini Flash-2.0 to everyone using Gemini App on computers and phones. Gemini Flash 2.0 is the next version of popular Gemini Flash 1.5 known among developers for its reliability and speed. Earlier this year, Google also released Gemini Flash 2.0 deep thinking model for reason through complex tasks with Flash’s speed giving competition to OpenAI’s ChatGPT-o1 Pro and ChatGPT-4o reasoning model.
With this launch, Google released an updated version of Flash 2.0 Model for everyone available through Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. Developers can start using this model to build real world applications with the same ease like Flash 1.5. Google also launched test version of its top performing Gemini 2.0 Pro Model for coding tasks and to address tricky prompts. If you are a Gemini Advance User then you can access Gemini 2.0 Pro Model through Google AI Studio and Vertex AI as well as in Gemini App.
Google is also launching more budget friendly model Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite for public testing again available through Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. As mentioned in our previous article, Google’s Vertex AI is helping developers building Generative AI applications faster and better with its unique set of tools and years of development with other AI applications.
All these newly launched models can accept various inputs including texts and images to generate only text as output. More input and output options will be available in coming months and it will be updated/ informed through Google blog post.
Gemini Flash-2.0: With new update for general availability
Google unveiled the Flash series of models at I/O 2024. Developers love these models as powerful workhorses. They work best for high-volume frequent tasks at scale. They can reason across different types of data using lots of information, with a context window of 1 million tokens. Developer community has received them very well to build different AI focused applications.
Gemini Flash-2.0 Flash is now available to more users across our AI products. It shows better results in key benchmarks. Soon, it will create images and turn text into speech.

Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental: Top model so far for coding tasks and intricate prompts
Google has launched test versions of Gemini 2.0 Pro like Gemini-Exp-1206. Developers have given Google great input about its strong points and ideal applications such as coding. Based on the insightful feedback received from developer community, Google launched a test version of Gemini 2.0 Pro that addresses user feedback. This model outperforms any of Gemini’s previous releases in coding and handling tricky prompts, while showing a deeper grasp and reasoning of global knowledge. It features biggest context window yet, at 2 million tokens allowing it to examine and process huge amounts of data. It can also use tools like Google Search and run code.
Developers can now access Gemini 2.0 Pro as an experimental model in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI. Gemini Advanced users can find it in the model menu on both desktop and mobile devices.
Gemini 2.0 Flash-Lite: Most budget-friendly model so far
Users have already shared lots of good things about how cheap and quick 1.5 Flash is. Google aimed to keep making it better, without raising the price or slowing it down. This new model beats 1.5 Flash in quality, while staying just as fast and affordable. It does better than 1.5 Flash on most tests Google run.
Like Gemini 2.0 Flash, it has a context window of 1 million tokens and can handle various types of input. To give you an idea, it can create a fitting one-line caption for about 40,000 different photos. This costs less than a dollar when using Google AI Studio’s paid tier.
